I'm legal!

Yay, I just turned 18 (: Which comes with its pros and cons, I suppose.
Pros:
- buy certain things legally (scratch tickets, lottery tickets, cigarettes, etc.)
- open my own credit card
- sign my own papers
- vote
- easier at finding jobs that are 18+
- drive whenever I want

Cons:
- do a lot of things without getting into trouble.. (ambiguous)
- more expected to be responsible for myself :(

Okay I'm sure there's more cons, but at least I have more "privileges" now.

Here are the nails I did on Monday.

I used one coat of Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade as the base color and topped with it two coats of Love & Beauty Green.

Love & Beauty is from Forever21's line of cosmestic stuff. I originally saw NYX Enchanted Forest from Mimi's post [here] and saw that Love & Beauty had a dupe and I don't have access to any NYX cosmetics here..nor am I willing to order online. Then a few days later, I met up with a friend at Forever21, so the first thing I thought of was the polish, so I went to look for it and found it! :) It's only $2.80.

I tried it a few days later. At first I was a bit disappointed because the glitter is very sparce with the first coat and my favorite part about the polish was the bigger hex glitters,  but it was difficult to get even one out. I applied two coats of Green and I got one hex glitter if I'm lucky. But after a while, I thought that it's not as bad as I think because two coats is just perfect and sometimes polishes have way too much glitter. It has a jelly base, so it's not exactly clear, but it makes everything better :) You can also see like these lines on the hex glitters, I dunno why. From far away all the glitter is holographic though. Overall I'm happy with Love & Beauty Green, just a tad disappointed that it's so hard to get all the glitters on.

Small Haul from the Mall

Last Monday I went to the mall after work because I had some things to return. Someone from A&F tried to recruit me lol, so I'll take that as a compliment. Anyways, since I was there, I decided to look around for clothes (:

First I got two tops from Charlotte Russe.
Pink dolman top $10
I know it looks orange in the pic, but the lighting was bad. It's actually a rosy pink color. It's a size bigger because I couldn't find my size, but I put it in the dryer hoping to shrink it. I forgot to hang it up again so now it's wrinkly. :x I have to iron or wash it again..
Ruffle tank top $10
I needed two items for the 2 for $20 promotion, and I originally just picked this as a filler that I'd hopefully like and after trying on, I liked it a lot! It'll look nice paired with a cardigan.

Next, I discovered a store called Love Culture. It was like a cuter version of Forever21, with the prices about the same but less selection. Everything started to look very similar after a while but in different colors. I went to the fitting room with a bunch of stuff and only came out with one top that I like.
White Kimono Top $10.95
I tried on a blueish one at first, but the color just didn't seem right and thought it'd look better in white. By then it was already time for the mall to close so I had to rush to change back and ran to grab this in white.
I'm actually debating whether to keep this top or not because I don't like how if I lift my arms, there's like nothing covering the rest of my body, but nothing a tank top can't fix, I guess..or just don't lift my arms. Plus their return policy is only exchanges or store credit, so ehh..

Finally, this is a top from a separate shopping trip when I was in Arizona. I went to Flagstaff Mall & The Marketplace and the store is California Girlz. They had so much NYX make up/nail polish there! It's a shame that tax was so high there :\
Beige semi-asymmetrical cold shoulder top $16.41 w/tax.
I was debating between this and a darker color. This one was borderline too share compare to the latter, but I liked this one more, so :)

Anyways, that's all for now. I still have to upload/post the ones from all those online orders I made last month :|

Pink & Black Polka Dots

Here's my mani from last week. I didn't take it til like a week later and just took it off, so yeah it looks really gross and it's sorta chipped/worn down.
The base color is Revlon Peach Petal and I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for my dots.

I just finished a new mani, so I'll post that in the next day or two :)

Frustrated.

I really hate it when people are so unwilling to compromise. We all have our own values, but they're not everything. If one person isn't willing to compromise, then it's only common sense that they should expect the same from me.

A lot has happened in the past year, but everything is so fragile because they're so easily forgotten or thrown away. But I guess that's fine because I'll be starting a new part of my life in the next 3 months, so I should just take this time to get over everything and get myself together. I'm at the point of my life where I'm so ready meet new people as leave behind a lot of people who I'd rather not concern myself with, and luckily for me, the timing is just right. If my existence to others are so insignificant to others, then there's no point in crying over it and instead I should just get over myself.

I don't believe in changing for others and you should only do it for yourself, so I appreciate everyone who can understand me and don't criticize me over every other flaw. Instead, the ones who I'll stand by are the ones who can accept me as I am.

Birthday Parties

It's almost 3AM and I can't sleep :\ I have my AP Calculus and AP Chinese test tomorrow too..

Anyways, my birthday is coming up next week and I was thinking about how usually when you're younger or around my age, people have those birthday gatherings where like 10-20 people come over to your house and eat and have fun and whatnot, but I've never really had that except one instance where I invited a friend over for my birthday in the 5th grade. But I'm talking about the bigger gatherings.

It sort of makes me sad that I've never had any of them and I actually still want one..but I feel like this year's like my last year to have one. I mean technically I can still have one for years to come...but it's just not the same and not as nostalgic. It won't be as innocent or childish (in a good way) anymore.

Well, this was just sort of something I wanted to rant about for a while now :\ I'll try to study a bit and go to bed before it really does get too late.

Physics Project: Flashlight

This is probably the most challenging science project I've ever had. As simple as it sounds, due to my lack of creativity, I spent hours building a flashlight for my school project. Here's the final outcome:
It works if you push it from the bottom, but I couldn't get it to meet one of the requirements: to be able to stay on. It can only stay on if I keep pushing the button. It's not very physically appealing either lol, but I needed a way to get all the pieces to stay.

I used mold putty to create the shape to keep the batteries and wire together. But I made a slit on it to take out the batteries, which ended up being too big and the slit got bigger, so I folded the entire thing with aluminum foil so nothing would fall out. Afterwards, I wrapped it with cling wrap to keep the foil together and also the battery from falling off. And TADAHH! There you have it, my fail flashlight.

China Glaze: Electric Beat

Electric Blue is from China Glaze's Spring 2012 Electropop collection. I would describe the color to be a blue that's leaning towards periwinkle, but without many hints of purple, if that makes sense.

This is one of the polishes I picked up from one of the stores in Pacific Mall back in February when I went to Canada. I haven't had a chance to swatch it until now.

It was a bit streaky for my first coat, but nothing a second coat didn't fix. I only applied two coats and this picture if from 2-3 days after applying it. I used OPI Nail Envy as my top coat, so it might not be as shiny as it could be with another top coat.
