Gilly Hicks & Sushi Sunday

Weeks ago I ordered from Gilly Hicks because a lot of things were marked down and there was an additional 25% off.  I bought two bathing suits from them because I don't have any and it gets inconvenient a lot of times. They were only $9-13 a piece, which is really cheap.

 Other things I bought.
 Foreshore Road (white) $14.81
You can never have too many pairs of shorts! I don't really have many anyways and I think white shorts go well with everything. These fit perfectly so I'm happy :3
 Rushcutters Bay $15.49
I'm such a sucker for bows. I finally learned how to retie to bows!

There were a few other things that I ordered but ended up returning. I got the bathing suits in navy and pink. I returned the pink one because the frills looked weird and awkward. The bottom of the navy didn't have any frills like I was expecting :\ I saw some in the store too, but I had already washed mine and didn't bring it with me when I went to the mall on Sunday return the pink one and another top.

In stores, I think everything was marked down. Regular priced items were 30-40% off. Redline (stuff already marked down) were an additional 50% off. I managed to snag these two shirts. They were both originally $49.50, but I got them for way cheaper!
Green flannel shirt $6.45
Blue checkered shirt $6.45

The sleeves for both of them are a bit snug, around the elbow sorta area.. but if I had gotten a bigger size, then the sleeves were more comfortable, but the shirt would've been too wide overall and less flattering.

We had to leave since the mall was closing. We decided to go eat sushi at an all you can eat place. It's about $21 per person but the thing about this place is that you have to finish all your sushi or else they'd charge you per roll. D:  There was the three of us and we started off with miso soup and seaweed salad.
Then they brought out spicy seafood fried rice and spicy seafood udon. They call it seafood, but it's only like 3 pieces of shrimp in there ><
 Tada!! The main course.
After eating about two rolls, we started getting really full and it was awful thinking about trying to finish the rest of the sushi. There was 15-20 pieces left and our appetite wasn't cooperating , so we just sat around trying to finish it slowly so we wouldn't be charged lots of $$$ for not finishing it ):

Well that's it for my day on Sunday :)

Georgetown Cupcake in Town!!

Georgetown Cupcake recently opened up in the area, less than two weeks ago. For a while, I had no idea what it was.. I didn't find out it was a bakery until today -__- What I mean is, I thought it was a food truck that sold cupcakes :x
They currently have five different locations in: DC, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, & California. They offer "everyday" flavors as well as different special flavors depending on the day of the week. They are $2.75 each, $15 for 6, and $29 for 12.
The bakery itself was pretty small, but very clean looking. It was packed with people, but the wait wasn't that long, maybe 5 minutes? It gives me time to look at the different flavors on display and the menu. I ordered a red velvet because I heard that that's what they're sorta known for and a white chocolate raspberry. They have order numbers on the receipt that they call and then you go to pick up your box of cupcakes. When they called mine, they told me that they ran out of white chocolate raspberry, so I ended up getting chocolate³.
They came in a pretty pink box!
Yes, I took this napkin just for the logo. -loser-
Revealed!!
Red Velvet & Chocolate³

Chocolate-It wasn't overwhelmed with chocolate taste. At first I thought it was rather bland, but still, I think it has a very nice fluffy texture.
Red Velvet-It was pretty good. I actually left it out overnight before eating it because I didn't have the appetite to eat it. I don't know if it sorta goes bad or not.. anyways. I've only tasted red velvet once or twice before, so I'm not really a good judge of it, but it didn't have that taste that I think red velvet should have.. if that makes sense. The cupcake was enjoyable, but I don't really know how to describe the taste. Maybe it would've tasted better or differently if I had eaten it yesterday.

I'll definitely come back to try other flavors.. but not too often. I still think cupcakes are sorta too expensive to buy from bakeries. Even though "homemade" ones aren't necessarily as good, the price of a dozen or more that comes from those box mixes is the same as the price for one cupcake. :\

School Orientation

Random, but just after opening the Neutrogena sample, I realized that I actually grabbed all of them LOL. It was a sample pack wrapped in plastic and I thought it was one..since it was wrapped it.. but turns out it was meant for the entire display..whoops.

Anyways, onto the main reason for this post. Two weeks ago on Thursday and Friday (6/14-6/15), I had my school orientation. I made myself a few dumplings to start off the day :)

It starts at 8:00AM and I got there just in time, but a bit too late for check in, so I didn't get my room assignment until later into the afternoon.

We were all assigned groups, mine had like around 8-9 people and there was a student adviser who lead us to different places and such. I only had an hour of sleep the night before so midway into the day I dozed off ):
Lunch: Smoked turkey sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, chips, & water

Later on, they had a "barbecue" for dinner. They offered burgers, chips, lemonade/water, hotdogs, and cookies. It was quite filling though. And after that we had some free time. I ended up going to checking in since I didn't get the chance to in the morning. I ended up in the dorm where most people weren't staying.. and coincidentally, my friend also got the same room! They were assigned randomly, because the person just hands us a key, so it wasn't pre-assigned or anything! We ended up just napping for an hour or so before we had to attend something else.

They did more talking and at the end, they offered a few activities: karaoke, inflatable plaything, dance party,  trivia, and some other thing. We also got free t-shirts! :D
Inflatable plaything.
You just go inside and race again another person. It was pretty fun, but only lasts like 15 seconds lol.

We all ended up getting back to our rooms around 12:30AM. We all showered and got ready for bed. I went to sleep around 3:00AM or so because a few of us just ended up talking and on the phone with another friend.

The next morning.. we had to get up for breakfast at 8:00AM.
Pancake, bacon, eggs, sausage & orange juice.
I loveee eggs when they're scrambled like that!! I don't know how to make it like that myself though ):

Lastly, there was a closing ceremony and we all left by around 12:30PM. I grabbed some balloons on my way out and they're still full of helium up until like 2-3 days ago! Probably because it's been hot, so it sorta expanded, but hey, they're still touching my ceiling to this day!

Anyways, that's all the story I have for now! I'm all registered for classes and stuff, I just have to apply for work study. My schedule is so filled up :\ I see people posting theirs' with like 2-3 hours a day, where mine isn't much better than high school because it goes from morning til afternoon.

tokidoki: SANDy, Latte, & Donutella nail swatches

Hi! Long time no update. I haven't really had much to write about lately. I have some things I wanted to, but I haven't had the motivation to take pictures to go with them. So I thought I'd do a quick swatch entry.

I went to Sephora the other day and browsed through the tokidoki products. I actually never knew they had a small line of nail polish. They were all very pretty and I have a few that especially caught my eyes.  I just did a quick swatch to see what it looks like. There's no base color, each is only one coat, and no top coat. I know they're not a thorough swatch, but I just wanted an idea of what they'd look like on the nails.
SANDy is a glitter polish. It has pink and gold micro glitters along with gold and teal string glitters.
Next is Latte and Donutella. Latte has blue micro glitters with purple and gold string glitters. Donutella has red micro glitters with purple-magenta and white string glitters.

They were all easy to apply and the glitter is quite dense, but you'd need a base coat to make it look complete or 2-3 coats if worn alone.

Conclusion? I didn't buy any of them. Even though it looks as it does in the bottle, it just wasn't as appealing on the nail. It might have to do with the lack of a base color, so I wouldn't rule it out immediately if I were you. Sephora currently sells them for $6 each, which is pretty reasonable for nail polish, but not cheap enough for me to buy just because. I'd reconsider SANDy though, I think that one would be the easiest to work with.

High School Graduation

Yayy I'm officially a graduate of the Class of 2012!! :D

The day before I did my nails to match the occassion. The paw is part of our school mascot and my school colors are purple and white. I used Wet n Wild Megalast On a Trip as the base color. Then I used L.A. Colors Art Deco in White for the paw and for the plaid effect, I used Wet n Wild French White Creme. After it was dried I topped it all off with Essie Good to Go. It looks sort of blue in the pics, but it's actually purple and doesn't look blue at all in person.

I actually didn't have a dress for graduation ): But I just wore one that I ordered recently from Forever21. It didn't seem that suitable for graduation, but I kept my gown zipped up the entire time so it's okay.

I arrived at the place where graduation is held around 3:45PM and we were supposed to be there at 4:00PM. I realized that I forgot my National Honors Society tassel at home when someone asked me about mine D: But luckily my boyfriend brought it to me :)

Graduation didn't start until 5:00PM, and there was really no point in getting there that early because all of just just stood around for like an hour. We then walked to our seats and waited around while speeches and such were going on. Then finally names were called :D I had to wait for the end though because my name is one of the last ):
Your's truly :D

At the end of the ceremony, seniors usually throw up their caps, but we were all confused as to when to actually throw it xD I was one of the first to throw it, so mine probably fell by the time everyone started doing it :x

Me and the boyfriend

Bouquets of flowers :D <3 My arm started getting sore after holding it for a while & taking pictures D:
Gift from a mentor :) Inside was a book.

After the entire graduation was over, we went to go out and eat. We ordered a bunch of dishes, but they were all too far away to take pictures or people started eating before I had a chance to take a pic D:  I had to zoom in to get the pictures below ): So the quality isn't that good.
Some seafood/dried noodles dish
Clams!!

But yeahhh that concludes my graduation!! :D So now I can officially say that it's all over and that I've made it! ;)

I just submitted my schedule for my fall semester and I have my orientation in the morning ;o It's from Thursday-Friday afternoon. Sooo I'll update once I'm back!! :)

Recent Beauty Freebies :D

This time I have a few things to share about stuff that I received recently.
Sugar Mini Lip Duo
It was sort of weird. I went in to Sephora a few days before my birthday and the lady told me that I had to get it two weeks before or after my birthday so I had to wait a few more weeks.. then I went on May 31st, two weeks and a day after my birthday and the sales associate told me that I had waited too long but she gave it to me anyways. I think it's supposed to be within two weeks before or after my birthday though, so dunno if the first SA was wrong or not. -shrugs-

I've tried the tinted one and it's a nice subtle color to my lips. I was reluctant to try it at first because I originally kept taking it out in public while rummaging through my bag and when I open it, it's like bright red. But after actually trying it on, it wasn't so bad.

L'Occitane Gift Set
It comes with Angelica Hydration Cream (15mL), Verbena Hand Cream (15mL) and samples of L'Occitane's aromachologie shampoo and conditioner. L'Occitane just launched their Angelica line products and they had an event where they were doing free facials and giving out these gift bags afterwards. I went on June 2nd to get it done. I dunno if it's because the lady only wiped off the products with a tissue since they didn't have a sink or rinse off things, or if it's the products, but afterwards the stuff on my face felt really heavy. Every time I touched my face I could still feel the product because it didn't absorb.

They were running a promotion where if you bought a moisturizer + any other product, you'll get either a cleanser or toner for free. The boyfriend decided to get a moisturizer and scrub and gave me the toner :D
L'Occitane Angelica Face Toner (worth $20)

They offered 10% off for $65+ purchases for people who have the mall's shopper's card. Too bad we didn't have one...but we ended up getting one for free like 3 minutes after leaving the store D:< All the time it seemed like something you had to pay for, but all I had to do was ask for it ): I tried to a few days earlier, but the mall was already closing so the people at customer service were gone. Pooo :(

Next.. I have Target beauty bags :D The red/pink one is from a few months ago and I just received the blue one in the mail yesterday. They're all small samples, but so cute!! Each included a booklet of coupons.
Pantene Flat to Volume Conditioner (50mL) | Neutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser (14mL) | TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner (29mL/each) | Nivea Extended Moisture Daily Lotion (30mL) | Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes (7ct) | L'Oréal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer
TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner (29mL/each) | Aveeno Daily Detoxifying Scrub (1oz) | Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70 (29mL) | Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo & Conditioner (10mL/each) | Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter (Peach Parfait)

They're samples, so of course each one is small, but the beauty bags have been quite generous in variety. :) Well that's all I have for now :D

Neutrogena Shine Control Make Up Samples
Forgot to include this one. I picked it up at a display at CVS Tuesday evening. I haven't tried it yet, but it'll be useful just to sample the product. (:

Senior Sign Out

On Thursday I had to go back to school to get signed out by all my teachers, guidance counselor, and assistant headmaster. I couldn't fall asleep til about 4:00AM or so and had to wake up at 6:30AM to get to school on time :( In homeroom they gave us these medical stuff that listened all the shots that we have had.. but I actually didn't turn one in from last year and I think I did receive shots >__< Soo when I have to turn it in for college, it's not going to be fully updated :( Uh ohh.

We all had until 9:00AM to get signed out and leave the building. I received my tassle for National Honors Society. Still kind of upset that the day before we took yearbook photos, someone sent out an email saying that the NHS photo was NOT going to be taking place and I received the slip to go the next day, but I didn't because of that email soo I'm not going to be in that picture for the yearbook. I also received my tickets for prize night and graduation (:
There's this food stand across the street from my school, and students from my school tend to loveee their iced coffee.. all these years I've never tried it, so finally on my last day (even though it was just to sign out) I got to try it :) It was good and really cheap :o It was $1.50 for a small.

After everything was settled, a group of my friends and I went to the food court nearby my school to kill some time before heading to iHop :D I ordered a strawberry crepe from their 7 for $7 deal. It came with hash brown, eggs, and bacon (or sausage). I didn't like the crepe that much. It was wayyyy too soggy. I haven't eaten many, but I'm pretty sure crepes are meant to be dry :I I got full before I was able to finish it anyways.

Next we went to Pinkberry for like 10 minutes or so before heading our separate ways. Some went shopping while my group went downtown to kill some time. We headed to Macy's for the next hour or so. Then I went to the bank to ask about this bonus that I was supposed to get but haven't yet. Turns out I'll get it by July 31.. so late. -__-

It was awful there because earlier after iHop there was a guy passing out Pepsi Next and at the bank I dropped it while I was waiting for the next person to help me and the bottom was dented.. then after I was done I got up and forgot I left the Pepsi on the seat (so it wouldn't roll around so it couldn't stand properly) and it rolled onto the floor and it bursted open D: At first it started spraying out lightly like a sprinkler but when I grabbed it to try to stop it, it started to drip more and I got it all over the lady's desk so I had to run to the trash and dump it ): So awkward and embarrassing waah.
Then after running some errands, I had to go to this meeting and I got called in to work from 6:00-9:15PM :( Sooo tired.

Senior Prom

I had my senior prom this Tuesday :D I woke up early in the morning to go pick up my corsage and boutonniere. But the boyfriend and I decided to go eat some dimsum first.
Afterwards, we headed to the florist called Chaba Florists. Compared to the first set that I got two years ago, I like this one a lot better. My corsage was okay, I asked for a larger rose in the center, but they went ahead made them all small ones because they thought the bigger one was too heavy and would come off during the night. I also asked for a large center piece for the boutonniere surrounded by smaller ones, but it was made with all small ones as well. So when I asked them about it, the guy just went ahead and made us a new one :) I like the new one a lot better except one of the roses hasn't bloomed yet... The roses weren't that fresh either.. but it was decent. There's a lot of raving reviews about their bouquets, so if I ever needed any, I'll come back again, but never again for boutonnieres or corsages. There are places that make ones a lot prettier and cheaper too.
Corsage $25 Boutonniere $20

The day before prom I went out to find a pair of shoes.. I originally wanted flats so I wouldn't be taller than the boyfriend, but I couldn't find any simple ones, and this pair caught my eyes :) They're 4" with a 0.5" platform and fit well, which is rare for me, so they're definitely keepers!

Fioni Kutzie Knot Pump $29.99

We then went home to wait for people because a group of my friends were going prep at my house for prom. I told them to come after noon, but most of them came around 1:30PM. I took a nap in the meantime :) When everyone got here, the boys took downstairs and the girls took upstairs to prep. Stupid boys chipped the surface of my dinner table ):

I did my nails a day or two before prom just so I wouldn't have to rush to have it done and risk smudging it. I dunno why my nails look so round... It looks sheer because I only used one coat of each, but it's a bit less noticeable in person. I also did a friend's nail really quickly. I took the pic right after applying it, so it's a bit messy and only used one coat of each as well.
Revlon Pure Pearl topped with Jordana Glitters Fairy Dust
Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics Seaside topped with Revlon Radiant

We actually went overtime in prepping. The make up and hair took forever (five girls) even though it shouldn't take TOO long for each person.. I did my own make up (no pics) for the first time, so I'll trust my friends' words that it looked fine D: I get conscious that it looks like I have a black eye or something :x

I couldn't get the flat iron to curl my hair properly ): So it was frustrating and I opted to just go with straight hair since the curler was being used and I was reluctant to use a metal curler anyways since my hair is very prone to breakage and split ends even from using it once. I used a metal curler two years ago and my hair was fried afterwards -__- But in the end my friend just helped me curl it. It didn't turn out too well, the top half of my hair was straight and the last few inches were straight.. so it went straight --> curly/wavy--> straight. The ends were fine because we touched it up to fix it, but the top was still straight. The curls didn't hold either and got undone, but whatever, I sorta liked how it turned out after a while since it looked decent in pictures.
We all took the bus to the location for pictures :D A limo was not worth it because the hotel where prom was held is only 10 minutes from my house and 10 minutes from the picture location, so it would've been a waste of money. We got there around 6:30PM even though we planned to be there at 6:00PM, but we weren't done with preparations yet.

Here's the long awaited picture of myself ;D
Boyfriend & I
Best friend & I

After pictures we trooped to the hotel which took, perhaps 15 minutes? We grabbed some food when we got there. They offered fruits, cake, plain and buffalo chicken tenders, and mozeralla sticks. The cake was so good!!! So sad that I got full already and couldn't eat more cake ):
The music sorta sucked.. but overall it wasn't too bad. I didn't have to spend A LOT of money, but still a decent amount, probably half of what some girls had to pay for their dresses. It was $80/person to attend, and that's sorta average for prom prices.

When it was all over, we got back to my house at midnight. Two just went to pick their stuff up/wait for a ride, but most of them stayed. We had an air bed, but the charger/pump said it had to be charged for at least 24 hours if it's being used for the first time and I thought it was new, so that was a fail -__- It turns out that it has been used before though ): Sooo my friends had to squeeze together to fit the sleeping bag that was opened up to use as cushion. We stayed up until around 4:00AM playing cards and just not sleeping haha.

The next day we all went to get some sushi and then parted our own ways.
